About The Board
Camp Tanner is run by a volunteer board of directors. Each director holds a seat for 3 years until they are re-elected or leave the board. The board can have between 8-12 board members. Board members are usually elected at our Annual General Meeting (in November) each year. However, board members can be elected by the board from the membership.
The board oversees all that Camp Tanner Inc. does. Everything from our camps, to our fundraisers and everything to get ready for camp in the off season. The board meets on the first Wednesday of every month at Dundas United Church. If you have ideas to propose to the board you can always speak to our president to ask about being invited to the meeting to present a new ideas. We are always looking for something different to make Camp Tanner even better.
Welcome New Members!
This year at our AGM we welcomed 3 new board members. These included Graham Anderson, Noretta Henderson, and Megan Schiedel. We are very excited to have them joining us and hope they can help us transition from some of our older leadership.
We are sad to have lost a few of our board members this year as well. At our AGM this year we had 4 board members step down due to other commitments in their lives. We would like to thank Lynne Allen, Sarah Hainer, Lorraine Underwood, and Lindsay Whetstone for everything they have given to the board over the years. We appreciate all that they did for us to help camp happen.
Want To Help?
Our board is amazing, but they are only 12 people, and there is a lot of work that goes into making camp happen each year. The Board is always looking for more people to help!
We currently have one opening on the board. We could fill this at a meeting of the board if there was a person in our membership who was interested
We also always need people to volunteer on subcommittees. Subcommittees can have as many volunteers on them as there is interest. To get involved with our subcommittees feel free to contact the chair of the interested committee. All committees, when they meet and their chair is listed on the side column of this page.
Lastly, we are always looking for one time volunteers. If your interested in volunteering please contact us. We are always looking for extra hands for odd jobs and projects. Some specific projects which we need people for each year include: the auction, other fundraisers, set up & clean up at camp, work projects at the camp, staff trainings, etc.
