February 16, 2019 at 9:00 am Staff applications are now open! We are looking to hire for all roles. New Staff need to submit a cover letter, resume and 2 letters of reference. Returning staff should submit a cover letter and resume. Applications should be sent to camptannercoordinator@outlook.com, but can also be delivered in person to the Summer in the Snow training event. Summer in the Snow: Sat. Feb. 16 9am-4pm This is a meet and greet staffing event held at Knox United Church in Embro. It is a chance to meet all applicants, to discuss expectations for the summer and to participate in some fun leadership activities. All staff who apply for this summer are expected to attend this mandatory training. Staff Interviews: Saturday March 9, 2019 Applicants will be contacted with an interview time for this date. Interviews will take place at Dundas United Church in Woodstock Please take note that most of our planning and communication happens on Facebook. Private groups for 2019 will be opened as contracts are offered (throughout March). Now Hiring for SumMer 2019!
Camp Tanner is an overnight camp which runs six weeks of summer camps and a weekend camp on May Long Weekend each year for campers who are 7-15 years of age. The camp is accredited by The United Church of Canada and The Ontario Camping Association. Staff and volunteer candidates should expect to work with youth in a positive, team environment and live on the premesis from Sunday to Friday of each week which they work.
Preference will be given to applicants who meet the following requirements: · Previous leadership and/or camping experience · Education and/or experience working with children and youth · Positive teamwork and communication skills · Interest in youth program development and facilitation · Ability to work with/without supervision · Preference to candidates who can commit to working 6 weeks When hired, all applicants will: · Obtain a current vulnerable sector police check · Attain a Standard First Aid with CPR – C certification · Be committed to attend ALL training sessions meetings offered by Camp Tanner Inc. · pre-camp role taking place in May and June · Coordinator will prepare for camp, communicate with staff, post schedules, update the website, take part in promotional events, plan new programs, organize special programs, etc. Camp Director* · Director will oversee all camp activity and all other staff · 5 yrs. camp experience is an asset Program Director* · Program Director will oversee programming, sports staff and program staff and organize special programs · 4 yrs. camp experience is an asset Camper Director* · Camper Director will create camper lists, solve with camper problems and aid in camper discipline · 4 yrs. camp experience is an asset CIT & Staff Director* · CIT & Staff Director will create CIT program, oversee and support CITs, counsellors · 4 yrs. camp experience is an asset Craft Leader* · Craft Leader will deliver craft programs, keep craft cabin clean, assist other staff · 3 yrs. camp experience is an asset Head Lifeguard* · Head Lifeguard will oversee the pool programs and maintenance · Current NLS certification required, maintenance experience is an asset · Must be 18 years of age (born 2001) · 2 yrs. camp experience an asset Assistant Lifeguard* · Assistant Lifeguard will assist in all pool operations · Current NLS certification required, maintenance experience is an asset · Must be 17 years of age (born 2002) · 1 yr. camp experience an asset Counsellor* · Counsellor will supervise a cabin of 4-8 campers, planning activities and preparing supplies for those campers · Must be 17 years of age (born 2002) · Completion of the CIT program an asset Counsellor in Training (CIT)* · This is a volunteer role! Take part in the CIT program and learn how to be a great staff member by shawoing a counsellor and assistingactivity leadership and camper supervision. · Must be 16 years of age (born 2003) *any staff member with a talent in a sport or special activities should indicate this in their application. First Aid Staff · Live-in role, First Aid Staff will dispense medications and be the preferred first aid provider for staff and campers. · Nursing experience an asset. Camp Cleaner · Camp Cleaner will complete general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, cleaning of bathrooms, removal of garbage, laundry, washing dishes etc. · Preference given to those able to live on site. Kitchen Support (3 part time roles) · Kitchen support will be the kitchen leader, organizing and supporting volunteers as they prepare, serve and clean up from meals. · Food Safety Handlers course Required. · 1 person from early morning to after lunch, Monday to Friday · 1 person from mid afternoon to evening snack, Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays · 1 person for mid day support (late morning to dinner) Monday-Thursday, with partial shifts on Sundays and Fridays. |
